Gift Guides

I love seeing all the different gift guides on the web this time of year. I'm especially loving the ones that post all handmade or small business items.

We made Salty Design Co.'s gift guide for littles!

It's such an honor to be featured. I love it. Thanks so much.

Check out her gift guide for the holidays.

What other gift guides have you bookmarked?

Eggs!

Someone mentioned baking eggs instead of hard boiling them. I decided that I had to try it. I hate standing there and watching the eggs boil. Having to time it... It just takes forever. So when someone mentioned an alternative, I had to do it.

Ignore the old cupcake pan. I'm almost 100% sure it's older than me. It's the same pan from my childhood.

Oven was at 325 degrees Fahrenheit and I put them in there for half an hour.

Then it's an ice bath for about ten minutes. Use tongs. The eggs will be hot.

Had to open one just to see how it came out. Perfect!

Thankful

I know a lot of people write this post, and I think it's good. You should think about the things you are thankful for. You should be thankful and appreciative every day. Not just on Thanksgiving. I love reading what people are thankful for, but reading the 30 Days of Thanks on Facebook has gotten a little ridiculous. People start posting about material things and it just becomes a bragging contest. It's pretty bad.

But anyway, things I'm thankful for...

My Family: They are always there for me. No matter what. I don't know what I would do without them. A has been amazing to me throughout the years and he's a great father to Birdie. My parents are simply wonderful and I can always depend on them. My siblings are a hoot and I know they'd do anything for me. I've been blessed with a great family.

Birdie: She is a wonderful toddler. She was a great baby and it has just gotten better. She's so smart and headstrong. I love watching her grow. I'm so lucky to be her mom.

My Health: I've been in good health, all year. Haven't seriously been sick and I'm so glad for that. I hate being sick. Who likes it? And I don't want to worry about getting Birdie sick or having to take care of her while I'm sick.

I'm thankful for a lot of things but those are the main ones that I wanted to write about.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! What are some things you are thankful for?

Handmade Holiday

I decided that I wanted to post about handmade items that I've seen on Storenvy that I like. I like to promote the small businesses, especially with handmade items since I have my own shop and I know how hard it is to get your name out there. So I decided to pick a couple of items every week, show them and link them up. Maybe you'll be able up find something you like at one of these shops.

1. Jaka Gems / 2. jeannieknits / 3. Punky Jewelry

Love everything above! Had to stick to the color scheme. Check out their shops and follow their shops, if you have a Storenvy account.

Black & Orange

Anyone watch the World Series? I know, I'm a little behind schedule. But, living in the Bay Area for a good amount of years made me pretty excited when the San Francisco Giants made it! I watched each game religiously, and if I wasn't near a TV, Siri told me all about it.

So Pagan stole a base in Game 2, and got us all free tacos at Taco Bell. Taco Bell is a sponsor of MLB and offered the Steal A Base, Steal A Taco promotion.

So we stopped by a Taco Bell to get a free taco. A said it was mean of me to take a photo like this, but I didn't think it was bad. At our location, they offered a crunch taco, soft taco or the Doritos Loco Taco. I went for the Doritos Loco Taco. I've never had one before. I'm not a fan of crunchy tacos or Doritos, but I wanted to try one. I'm still not a fan.

So speaking of black and orange, it worked for Halloween too... I wore my Giants shirt from when they won the World Series in 2010. I even did my make up in black and orange. I actually pulled out my MAC stuff, it's been a while.

Birdie and I waited for daddy for a couple of hours. I got to watch Magic Mike (What was all the fuss about?!) during nap time. We stopped by Whole Foods, but their trick or treat event was pretty over. There was nobody around. So we walked over to BookPeople. There were a lot of little people. We listened during storytelling and then got to participate in a parade. She fell in love with stickers and didn't want daddy to touch the new book that she received.

We decided that we didn't want the night to be over and headed out to the mall. We knew it was kind of late, but we really weren't expecting candy. We just wanted to walk around and let her see other kids. She had a blast and has been knocked out ever since we got to the car. Pretty successful.

How was your Halloween? What did you dress up as? What did your LO dress up as?

Happy Halloween!
