I have the blues. The post vacation blues. I don't want to be home. I want to be back in New Jersey, taking the bus into New York almost every day. Spending a week in Maine, eating way too much lobster.
I know, the east coast has totally been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. I barely missed it by less than a week. My family and friends (and everyone else) out there are in my thoughts. Everyone I know is safe, not too much damage.. Might not have had power, but they're alive.
My grandmother's house lucked out. She never lost power. Almost every single person around her did. I'm not even sure how that worked out. A lot of my childhood memories are gone though. I remember spending plenty summers at the shore.
It's also pretty crazy to me to see photos of things completely covered in water, when I was just there.. Taking a photo in that same spot.
